Got the Disney Bundle, it's pretty cool

Signed up for the Disney Bundle Duo Basic a couple weeks ago. It was easy to get going. Wanted to watch some new movies and it's been working fine on my Roku. No complaints.

Consistently reliable streaming

I've been a Hulu subscriber for a few years now, mostly with the basic Hulu (With Ads) plan. This time, I upgraded to the Disney Bundle Trio Basic. It was easy to change my plan through my account settings, just like previous times I've adjusted add-ons. The content loaded instantly, and I didn't experience any buffering issues, which is why I keep coming back. It's always been pretty dependable.

Easy setup, good content variety

I signed up for Hulu (No Ads) last month to catch up on some shows. The signup process on their website was straightforward; I used a credit card and it was active immediately. I connected it to my smart TV and also watched on my tablet. The streaming quality was consistently good, even during peak evening hours. I really liked the selection of Hulu Originals and current season TV. I had one small question about adding Max later, and the chat support was quick and helpful, resolving it in about 5 minutes. Overall, a solid experience for what I needed.

Good value, some interface quirks

I decided to try Hulu + Live TV for the first time this past Super Bowl season. The channel selection was pretty good, and I definitely appreciated the Cloud DVR Storage feature for recording local news and sports. The picture quality was excellent for live broadcasts. However, I found the interface a little less intuitive than I'd hoped, especially navigating between live TV and on-demand content. Sometimes it took a few extra clicks to find what I was looking for. Overall, it's good value for the content, but the user experience could use a little refinement.

Does anyone know if Hulu + Live TV includes all local channels in major metros like Mumbai or Delhi? Or is it hit or miss?

M Max 1 month ago
Hulu Live TV is US-only, so it doesn't cover Mumbai or Delhi local channels. You'd need a VPN to even access Hulu outside the US, and even then, local channels are based on your US IP address.

D darkknight 1 month ago
Yeah, many streaming services are geo-restricted. Sucks.
2
V Vikram 1 month ago
Oh, really? I thought it was available everywhere. Thanks for clarifying.

S Sarita 1 month ago
If you're in the US, it generally covers most major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) in big cities, but it can vary by specific zip code. Always check their website with your address.

Finally cancelled my Hulu (With Ads) subscription. The ads were just getting too much, especially on longer shows. Thinking about trying the No Ads version or just sticking to other platforms.

P PriyaK 2 weeks ago
Honestly, the No Ads version is a completely different experience. If you like Hulu's content, it's worth the upgrade. I couldn't go back to ads now.

K Karan 2 weeks ago
Does it still have ads on some shows, like Live TV or certain networks?
2
R RahulK 2 weeks ago
Yeah, Live TV still has broadcast ads. And a very small number of shows might have short promos, but regular on-demand content is ad-free.
3
A AmitJ 2 weeks ago
Same here. I switched to the Disney Bundle Duo Premium just for the ad-free Hulu. Best decision I made. The ads were breaking my immersion.

Finally switched from Netflix to Hulu + Live TV yesterday. Setup was pretty straightforward, but I'm still figuring out the Cloud DVR. Anyone have tips for managing recordings efficiently?

R RahulK 1 month ago
Welcome to the club! The Cloud DVR is decent. Make sure you set up series recordings for your favorite shows. It catches new episodes automatically.

D Deepak91 1 month ago
It keeps them for 9 months usually. You can manually delete any time.

P PriyaS 1 month ago
Does it delete old episodes automatically after a while or do I need to manually clear them?

G GamerRaj 1 month ago
I mostly use it for sports. The live pause/rewind feature is a lifesaver during games. Just keep an eye on your storage, it fills up faster than you think if you record everything.
3
P PriyaS 1 month ago
Good point. How much storage do you get with the standard Live TV plan?

A Anjali 1 month ago
50 hours. You can upgrade for more if you need it, but it costs extra.

Thinking of getting the Disney Bundle Trio Premium. Is it really worth the extra cost over the Basic? Mostly interested in the no-ads experience.

A Anjali 1 month ago
If you hate ads, then yes, the Premium is worth it. Otherwise, ads on Hulu can be pretty frequent, especially with current season TV. Disney+ and ESPN+ don't have ads anyway.
11
T techfreak 1 month ago
Exactly. Disney+ has no ads, ESPN+ still has commercials during live events even with Premium.
1
R Rahul87 1 month ago
So the 'no ads' only applies to Hulu basically?
2
M Maya 1 month ago
I got the basic bundle first and upgraded to premium solely for Hulu without ads. Best decision. The difference is night and day for binge-watching.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
Good to know. That's my main motivation.

Customer service for Hulu has been really slow lately. Waited on chat for almost an hour just to ask about changing my plan. Is this typical now?

G Gaurav 3 weeks ago
I find tweeting them sometimes gets a quicker response for general issues. For account-specific stuff, you're stuck with chat/phone though.

S SunilP 3 weeks ago
Good tip. Thanks!

A Ananya 3 weeks ago
Yeah, their chat support can be a hit or miss. I've had quick responses sometimes, and other times it's an endless wait. Phone support is usually faster if you have the time.

I'll try phone next time. Just frustrating when it's a simple question.

My Hulu promo code for the 99 cents Black Friday deal isn't working this year. Anyone else having issues or know if they pulled the offer early?

P PoojaR 1 month ago
Checked their site, it says 'eligible subscribers' for the 99 cent deal. Pretty vague. Could be region-specific too.

N NikhilS 1 month ago
Mine worked fine last year. Maybe try clearing cookies or a different browser?
1
S Sneha22 1 month ago
I think that deal is usually for new subscribers only, or those who haven't had Hulu in a while. Did you have it recently?
5
C coolboy88 1 month ago
Yeah, usually it's a 'win-back' offer for dormant accounts or first-timers.
6
A AmitM 1 month ago
I had it like 2 years ago, thought I'd be eligible again. Guess not.

Tried to add the Max Add-on to my Hulu (No Ads) plan but it keeps giving me an error. Anyone faced this before? My card info is updated.

R Rohan 1 month ago
Hmm, sometimes there's a glitch when adding premium channels. Maybe try logging out and back in? Or try from a different device, like desktop vs. mobile app.

A Aisha 1 month ago
Tried that, still no luck. It's weird.

I had a similar issue with the STARZ add-on last month. Ended up contacting support, and they fixed it on their end. Took a bit but it worked eventually.
11
A Aisha 1 month ago
Did they give you a reason for the error?
1
K Kavita 1 month ago
They just said it was a 'system issue' and reset something. Wasn't very clear.

Is the Unlimited Screens Add-on actually worth it if my family only streams on 3-4 devices simultaneously? Seems like overkill.

R Rishi 2 weeks ago
Hulu's standard plan allows two simultaneous streams. So if you're hitting 3-4 often, then yes, it prevents someone from getting kicked off. Depends on how often everyone wants to watch at the exact same time.
7
M Meera 2 weeks ago
We often have two shows and one sports game going. So that's three.
2
J Jyoti 2 weeks ago
We got it because my kids are always on different devices. If you're constantly getting messages about too many streams, it's worth it for the peace of mind. Otherwise, stick with the basic two.

M Meera 2 weeks ago
Makes sense. Thanks for the input!
